Locking Decanter Box Tantalus, Exotic Coromandel Wood, Victorian, circa 1870s
Gorgeous Victorian locking decanter box of Coaramandel wood, circa 1870s. Interior with mirrored backs and purple velvet lining. Four cut glass decanter bottles and eight cordials etched with stars. Bottom drawer pops out with a button and the tray holding the cordials removes, an English registry stamp for 1872 is under the tray.
Box measures 11 1/2" height by 9" by 9" when closed. Decanters 7 7/8" height, cordials 3".
Overall very good condition. Box with two small sections of missing veneer. Two bottles with small chips to bottom. The lock will stick but can be pushed down with a slim edge in between the doors.
